God Is Always Working

God is Working1

One great thing about life is it is always changing.  Everyone experiences life changes.  It could be changing jobs, love ones dying, sickness, getting married, having children, etc., etc.  We all know that at some point of time we will experience change.  A lot of times change will stress us out because it might be something we have never experienced before. Sometimes we cannot gauge how we will make it through what we are experiencing.  Whatever change we might be experiencing we know that we can lean and depend on God to make it through.  God is always working in the background making sure his children will make it through whatever they are experiencing.

When change happens, we sometimes forget God is working in the background.  We have our pity parties.  We say things like, “Why is this happening to me?” or “Why did God let this happen to me?”.  Most of the time we are resistant to change, especially if its something we do not want to do or do not want to experience.  For example, if our job duties change at work and we become upset because we do not want to learn something new.  For me change at work was difficult because they kept adding to my job duties.  I like my job but doing the job of two people can be stressful.  Each time I learn something new at work, I remember what a supervisor Ms. Laws told me, “Every time you learn something new that is knowledge that no one can take away from you.”  In other words, learn all you can and later what you learn will be valuable to you.  No one can take away your knowledge and your experience.  What I learned from her has helped me to deal with change.  Yes, I do not always like change, but I know if I lean and depend on God to help me navigate it, I will be a better person for it.  God is always working in the background.  Maybe the changes we endure on our jobs will help us on our next job.  He is always preparing us for what will happen next.

We always want to blame God for the bad things happening in our lives.  When a love one dies, many of us will ask God why he allowed them to die.  We ask this question because it hurts when we lose a love one.  It is not a good experience.  But he is still teaching us when we experience loss.  He is teaching us how to lean and depend on him.  I know when my mother died, he was the one I leaned on to help me make it through.  When my mother was alive, I would call her and talk to her about the things I was going through.  Now I just spend time talking to Jesus and telling him about my troubles.  I know the people in my life are they for only a certain time period, but God is always there with me.  We should not be afraid when love ones leave us, know that he is always with us.  The bible says in Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  God is always working in the background of our lives.  He wipes away every tear, comforts us and gives us peace.  If you have lost a love one just lean and depend on God.  He is the only that can help you make it through this experience.  He is the only one that can heal your hurt and pain.

Whatever change you might be experiencing; God is always there to help you make it through it.  Sometimes he allows things to happen in our lives to move us or change us.  I always say that God is always about character building.  He sees us totally different than we see ourselves.  He knows us and he knows our future.  He is always trying to move us to the next level and to walk out our calling.  We are the ones who are always resistant.  The next time change happens in your life ask God what he is trying to teach you and what are you supposed to be learning from this experience.  I believe we are always learning and changing.  We are changing from the old man to the new man.  In Ephesians 4:22-24 it says, “ You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Everything we experience should be changing us to me more like our creator.  We should be learning more about ourselves and more about who God is in our lives.  He is changing us from gossipers to only talking about what he is doing.  He is changing us from liars to truth tellers.  Don’t resist change, know that God is working in the background to change your character.

The next time change happens, embrace it.  Just allow God to help you navigate it.  Know that you will be a better person for the experience.  Stop resisting change and allow God to work things out for your good.
