Life is supposed to be enjoyable. It is not supposed to be always about performing our duties and doing what is expected of us. Every day we should take some time to do something that puts a smile on our face. It does not have to be anything extravagant. It could be playing with your kids, eating your favorite desert or participating in an activity you enjoy. God wants us to enjoy life. He does not want us to be constantly consumed with worry or anxiety.
We all have problems or issues we must deal with. Some days are more difficult than others. Sometimes it can be hard to even get out of bed. Life has a way of knocking us off our feet. No matter what we are going through we need to have joy. Yes, it is hard to have joy when things are not going right in our lives. God tells us to enjoy life, despite of the things we are going through. We are to consider it pure joy when we have issues and problems because they help build our faith and endurance (James 1:2-3). We need to stay positive and not dwell on our problems. We should be happy that we have problems because they help us to grow spiritually. Every time we have a problem, we are learning things about ourselves and about God.
In Proverbs 17:22 it says, “A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” When we focus on being happy despite of what we are going through it is good for our body. What we allow to penetrate our heart and mind affects our body. When we worry about things, we have no control of, it affects us both physically and spiritually. A broken spirit weakens the body. When we are emotionally beaten down and consumed with our problems it causes us to be stressed out. Letting our problems consume us affects our heart, mind, body and spirit. Therefore, it is imperative that we keep our joy because it is healing for our bodies.
I used to worry about everything, but now I know that when I give my problems to God, I can keep my joy. When I focus on working on my calling and doing what God wants me to do, my problems no longer consume me. Many times, we try to solve our problems by ourselves, instead of letting God work them out for us. God tells us in Matthew 26:25, “Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.” We are not to worry about our problems. We must give them to God and let him work them out for us. If the lilies in the field to not worry about when the rain will come, why are we worried about our problems. Just pray and give your problems to God, he can work them out better than you can.
We must enjoy life every day. We need to let God work out our problems and trust that he has our best interest at heart. Stay positive and do things that will bring you joy. Live each day like it was your last. Do not let a day go by without letting those you love, know that you love them. Work on your calling. Do not put off things off for tomorrow, when you can do them today. Give your problems to God and enjoy your life.
