Most of us have experienced times in our lives when it feels like we are spinning our wheels and nothing is happening. It seems our dreams keep getting deferred, because of all of the issues we are dealing with. Every time we feel our dreams are about to be manifested something happens to delay the process.
Have you ever felt that way? Do you think about where your life is headed? If you’ll ever see your dreams manifested in your life time? Many of us struggle with these feelings. The feelings that our lives are incomplete. The feeling that we are on a dead end road leading to nowhere.
When we are feeling this way we need to get into God’s word. His word has a way of changing us. His word changes our pity party from despair to hope and joy. His word reminds us about who he is and it lets us know what he thinks about us. In Psalm 139 David describes how well God knows us and how much he cares for us.
No matter how you might be feeling you need to know that God knows who you are. Psalm 139:1 says, “O lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.” He knows everything about you. He knows when you will get up and he knows when you will lay down at night. He knows your every move. He knows what your thoughts are and how you will react to the things you encounter. Even when you think that no one knows you or understands you, God knows everything about you.
He knows your every move. He knows what you think, are afraid of, your dreams and aspirations, what makes you mad and what makes you sad. He knows your past, present and your future. He understands you. He knows you better than you know yourself. You can’t make a move he does not already know you will make. Isn’t it awesome to know that someone knows everything about you. Even the things you have not discovered about yourself yet.
God knows us and still loves us, despite all of our faults and mistakes. He will not cast us aside because we don’t always do what he thinks is right. He knew we would make mistakes before we made them. This is why he allowed his only begotten son to die on the cross for our sins. He forgives our mistakes and continues to guide and lead us to do the right thing.
God is with us every step of the way. Sometimes he walks ahead of us. Sometimes he follows us. Sometimes he walks beside us. But wherever we are, he is there. In Psalm 139, verse 5 it states, “You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” Not only does he help us, but he places his hand on our heads and blesses us and he marks us as his child.
Psalm 139, verse 6 states, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!” It’s too awesome to understand. Why would a righteous and holy God want to be with me each and every day? Why does he love us so? Some of us are married and we don’t want to be with our spouses each and every single minute of the day. But to think that God would want to be with us. That he wants to be around us all the time is hard to fathom.
David goes on to say in Psalm 139, verse 7, “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!” Lord you see us mess up. You see us do the wrong things. You see us say the wrong things. Yet you still want to be around us. When we are happy, you are happy for us too. When we are sad you hold our hands and comfort us. You are there to guide us along this path called life. You want us to achieve all the things you have created for us to do. You just want us to surrender our lives to you and let you lead us.
Lord we can go up to heaven and you are there. We can go to the grave you are there. Where ever we go, you are there. There is no where we can go to get away from God. If we understand that God is with us all the time, maybe we would treat each other better. Maybe we would learn how to love each other, just like God loves us. If we know he is watching us, maybe we would learn how to do better. Maybe we would want better for ourselves, for our children. Maybe if we understood who God is, we would not go to the places that a holy, righteous God would not be found in. If we knew that God was with us, maybe we would watch what comes out of our mouth. Maybe we would speak things that were uplifting and inspiring and not use our mouths to tear each other down.
We need to know who God is and who we are in God. We need to understand how much he loves us and how much he wants us to have a prosperous life. Prosperous living is not all about having tons of money. Prosperous living is about having the joy of the Lord. That whatever we are going thru we will have joy, because we know God is with us every step of the way. We don’t have time to worry about what other people think about us, because we know that God loves us. He loves us despite of our faults. We don’t have to be perfect for him. We just have to continue to do his will. Yes, we will make mistakes, but God will forgive us and never holds our mistakes against us. He just keeps on loving and caring for us.
So where ever you go you can’t get away from God. He is everywhere. Whatever you do in the dark he is there. Nothing is hidden from God.
I love it! Another great blog.
